AT LARGE IN BUENOS AIRES!!
Am finally here and this place really rocks!! Journey was uneventful - no delays and my luggage arrived in the same city as i did, on the same day, so that pretty much makes it a success as far as Delta is concerned. Flight between Atlanta and BA was rather bumpy, but fortunately a good Malbec helped ease the anxiety somewhat. Sam had arrived in BA on Sunday afternoon and had sent me all the details of how to take the bus, so i decided to be brave and go for it, rather than just jump in a cab. Was dead easy - only cost $35 pesos (about $15usd) and the coach had v luxurious seats that reclined way back and had me nodding off again v quickly!! Got off in central BA after about half an hour for the transfer point to the hotel. Got a bit random at this stage as people were farmed off to normal, clapped out old cars which looked like they were driven by your Granddad! Anyway, finally got to hotel and its in a fantastic location, right in the centre of town opposite this gorgeous plaza. After a bath and a quick power snooze, headed out to explore. Was an absolutely beautiful afternoon - warm and sunny and perfect for simply strolling around and soaking up the atmosphere. I didnt realise BA was just soooo amazing for shops - honestly, to die for leather and fur jackets! I stopped off at a cafe for late lunch and a coffee which almost took the top of my head off, before continuing my aimless wandering. Had one of those great moments, when came across these tango'ing street performers - my first tango in BA!!! They were great, although i think the bloke was at least 70, but they rocked it!
